Nice place, very quiet.

Nice place, very quiet. Nice staff and charmfull location close to a small beach. Easy to access with motorbicycle 3 swimming pools and you can order dinner with fresh fish.

I like that the manager is very amiable and very...

I like that the manager is very amiable and very accommodating in terms of short-notice request for local transport arrangement. I planned on getting around on a motorcycle rental, but wasn't able to do so for a very valid reason (totally my fault), so i had to rent another vehicle to get around. The place is quiet, perfect for a relaxing couple of days. It's very near Bohol Bee Farm. A few minutes drive to Hinagdanan Cave and Alona Beach.

It's too bad the pool is being cleaned those 2 nights being booked there. Breakfast could still be improved.

Remote Location with Great Staff

Calm, a bit outside the more busy areas of the island, great location to start island-exploration with a scooter, super friendly & helpful staff-members for arrangements or special wishes

What was the highlight of La Pernela Resort

Overall, the place is great value for money.

We appreciated that the owner was very accomodating and always there when we leave for our tour and come back from our tour to send us of and welcome us back and ask how was the tour. She even drove us to the sea tour pick up point early in the morning. On the last night of our stay we were not able to have lunch outside and she was very nice to cook for us her sumptuous special adobo even if it was already 8pm at night. We really appreciate it especially she was the one cooking plus her eggplant side dish was also really good. Added to this, there is a great spanish restaurant 5 mins walk from the resort.

Its quiet.

Its quiet. That’s it.

We stayed for 6 days and in the end, all we could do is laugh at how we had been duped. We would have raised this with the manager but this is all stuff that can’t just be changed and they don’t offer refunds so we just had to deal with it. Others staying at the ‘resort’ were saying the same thing - they felt deceived from what they booked online to what reality is. Actually from here, let’s call it a motel because it is certainly not a resort. It’s a 10 room place well off the beaten track, perfect to relax - that’s if you can given how the actual place is run.. We’re pretty easy people but we feel the need to get a few things off our chest; Dogs. There are about 8 or 9 dogs that live at the property and pretty much run the place. We are dog people, but even this was too much. When you want to eat, they’ll be right there with you. They bark all hours, they smell and some you can’t even go near as they’re aggressive. The reception area is basically their area hence the door always being closed. Enter at your own risk. Restaurant. Outside of the included breakfast, the restaurant is non existent. It was made clear when we checked in that they would prefer we eat elsewhere.. Frustrating given then fact that there is only one place within walking distance (Spanish Tapas) that’s only open for dinner. This should not be listed as a facility when you don’t want to offer it. You can’t order lunch, you can’t order snacks, you can’t order dinner. You can’t order room service.. I actually never even saw anything that slightly resembled a menu nor was it ever offered or mentioned. On the note of breakfast, it’s OK - we only had it a couple of times and that was enough to know that it wasn’t worth it. The bar. Again, non existent. A few San Miguel beers and that’s it, cold if you are lucky. Shouldn’t be listed as a facility at all. Laundry. Again, listed as a facility but when asked - we were told to take it elsewhere. How convenient Beachfront. This is a lie.

Cleanliness- standard of accommodation.

Cleanliness- standard of accommodation. Help fullness of the owner re booking trips, local places etc......

The property is positioned too far away from places to eat and where to go etc... there is a tapas bar within easy walking distance which was great but not somewhere that you want to go to every night. I was a single traveller, so on this basis would not recommend this as a place to stay. Hotel does make food for people, with enough warning, but even after an accident at the hotel, which was due to their poor health & safety measures, and a visit to the nearby city hospital, the owner did not want to cook for me. The rooms were lovely and cleaned daily.

Our stay is fine. The owner is accommodating, very hands on in her business and nice to talk with.

The place was nice and the room is spacious.

The wifi signal was very weak at our room. There were many dogs that could scare guests who are not fond of dogs.
